Ready or Not: Grappling with Disruption in Cultural Institutions - A Virtual Creative Brief
Tuesday, June 16, 1-1:30PM EST - Just 30 minutes!
We’re trying a new workshop format - Creative Briefs - a quick 30 minute workshop on: Disruption.
Disruption comes in many forms: the kind that threatens institutions and the kind that transforms them. To name a few, recent years have brought us a pandemic, the transformation of funding landscapes, protests on topics inside and outside the museum, the repatriation of artifacts, AI and calls to transform or abolish museums themselves.
In this workshop we’ll explore approaches to managing disruptions, no matter the topic, and no matter where you are on the organizational ladder. We’ll share some practical tools, and as always, Creative Future webinars are wonderful chances to connect with colleagues!
This workshop is free or pay what you can. All funds will be donated to The Heritage Rescue Emergency Initiative (HERI).

Good Neighbors During Slow & Fast Disasters
Thursday, September 18, 2025 1-2:30PM EDT
Communities are better able to face disasters when their cultural institutions take an active role in building resilience. In recent years cultural organizations have made an impact responding to fast disasters like fires and floods. It is equally important that they help respond to “slow disasters”, things like gentrification and climate change. This workshop will bring cultural workers together to learn and share about how they have responded to slow and fast disasters, and how we can better support resilient communities.
