Meet Us

We’re three friends and colleagues who have worked together and separately, before founding Creative Futures. Together we are bringing our individual passions and expertise to create change. You might want to work with just one of us, or all of us. Learn more about each of us below.

  • Linda Norris

Linda brings a global perspective and a deep commitment to collaboration, innovation, and meaningful change. She is a dynamic leader, strategist, and creative catalyst who helps museums, cultural institutions, and communities unlock their full potential through inclusive, forward-thinking interpretation and engagement. She helps organizations move beyond traditional narratives to tell powerful, diverse stories that resonate. Linda is the co-author of Creativity in Museum Practice and blogs at the Uncataloged Museum.

While on the team at the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, she led projects as varied as historic site re-interpretation in Senegal to a community-based public art initiative with Indigenous artists in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her consulting and training portfolio includes institutions ranging from the War Childhood Museum in Bosnia and Herzegovina to U.S. National Park Service.

Linda has been a Fulbright Scholar to Ukraine and continues to support the work of cultural heritage and museum colleagues there. She lives in the Catskill Mountains of New York State and during the pandemic drove every road in her rural county for fun.

  • Braden Paynter

Braden Paynter connects people, places and stories so we can build stronger futures together. When he was the Director of Methodology and Practice at the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, Braden helped good ideas move around the world. His team provided training and coordination to hundreds of sites as they developed complex projects that built strong relationships and engaged people in their collective future.

Before joining the Coalition, Braden worked with the National Park Service at the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site and at Old Sturbridge Village. Braden’s writing has focused on making transformative connections and building civic engagement through historic sites, and the role of victims, survivors, and perpetrators in catalyzing positive change.

He is the founder of Long Trail Consulting and lives in Midcoast Maine.
